**Important Information for Beginners**

If you are just starting out with an SHG and unfamiliar with how this device works, please read this post which detailed what the SHG is and how it stack up against etalon based filters . Also please read our FAQs carefully, there's a lot of helpful information that can help you with your purchase and usage of the MLAstro SHG.

For more information, read this comprehensive guide by Christian Buil, the father of Sol'Ex/Star'Ex, from which our SHG product is derived: [Sol'Ex Presentation](http://www.astrosurf.com/solex/sol-ex-presentation-en.html). The SHG is quite different from any device you may have used before, so it's crucial to invest time and effort into learning how it operates before making a purchase.

To understand the advantage of our MLAstro SHG prebuilt kit with Opticals over the tradition DIY 3D printed spectroheliograph, please read this post.

Each kit comes fully assembled and calibrated, complete with all the necessary optical components, ready for immediate use with your telescope. However, there are two additional components you may need to complete your setup:

  1. A T2 (M42) to 1.25" adapter for connecting the camera to the SHG.

  2. A 2" to M42 nosepiece for attaching the SHG to your telescope.

Any standard accessories of these types will work, so if you already have them, there's no need to purchase more. If you don't, we offer these accessories at a very reasonable price.
